Indian MBA options

Few facts about the 1 yr MBA program at IIM Ahmedabad
1. The class size is very small ~ 90-100 guys
2. The average experience is close to 9 years which means they want to maintain a clear demarcation between the 1 yr and 2 yr courses and eliminate any overlap.
3. There are no essays at the shortlisting stage - which is a great thing I guess !! I am not a very big fan of the obsession with "story" in US b-schools. Your career progression and resume are quite a good indicator of your "story" and that should be more than enough for anyone to judge your potential. Essays maybe add 20% to the judgement process and take up 80% of app writing time.
4. I am not going to join this course because I did not get shortlisted.

Few facts about ISB Hyderabad
1. It is best suited for people with 4-5 years of work experience.
2. It has a HUGE class of 560 people. So once inside one must find one's way around the chaos; and that is not easy to do.
3. It gets really very competitive as the only people who get real ROI from the ISB MBA are those in the top 50 - unless they came purely for a career shift.
4. I was called for interview and results are awaited in the next few days. Would update with the news as soon as it is available.
